Jersey City Man Charged With Assault After Car Crash: Prosecutors

A 45-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged after his vehicle struck another car at a high rate of speed, authorities said.

Patrick Gapasin was traveling north on Routes 1 and 9 when his Infinity Q60 collided with a Honda Accord at 7:55 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22 at the Sip Avenue intersection, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. The 60-year-old driver of the Honda Accord suffered multiple serious injuries, Suarez said.

Gapasin was charged with aggravated assault and assault by auto, Suarez said. He was arrested at his residence and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance, Suarez said.
